Hoisin sauce is a dark, thick, and sweet condiment often used in Chinese and Vietnamese cooking. It is often used as a glaze for red meat, in stir-fried dishes, and as a dipping sauce. The sauce is typically made from fermented soy beans, garlic, vinegar, sesame oil, and a sweetener.
